Greetings!
Today, June 1st, I celebrate twenty-five years of TNB Consulting Group, Inc. It is hard to believe that this many years have passed, and I still love what I do. I hope to continue working as an image and brand doctor for many years to come!
I can still remember hearing that Barnett Banks Inc. was being sold to Nations Bank and I worked at Barnett as the Senior Marketing Strategist. The writing on the wall said my position would be eliminated, or I would need to move. So, I had the idea of starting my own firm, silly me.
I called my parents and visited them to get their insight. My mother was shocked to say the least; however, my father was not. He was a physician and owned his own practice. He said, if you do not try it, when you are eighty and sitting in your rocking chair, you will never know what could have happened. Go for it, he said. And I did.
The original approach to the business has not changed much since I started. I am still an image and brand doctor of a global firm specializing in creative innovations, critical assessment, and tactical execution, all to enhance image and brand. The approach has been to design, develop, and execute consistency from both an internal and external perspective.
Over the years I have created, designed, and implemented customized marketing strategies for clients within the U. S., Canada, and Australia. These programs have established cultures and protocol within organizations that have resulted in their communicating effectively, marketing persuasively, and projecting themselves professionally. The customized development programs have facilitated learning with more than 13,000 professionals. Strategic planning processes have been performed in numerous corporate organizations including Starwood Vacation Resorts, Russell Corporation, Haywood Community College Foundation, and Florida Hospital Waterman. Additionally, I have served in the capacity of marketing director/consultant and have created new corporate images and helped integrate seven firms across Canada into one national organization. Extensive traveling was both challenging and absolutely delightful. The various countries, cities, and towns that I have arrived in, meet clients, performed my responsibilities, and then off to the next. It has been such a wonderful journey. And it is not even finished!
I thoroughly enjoy serving as an executive coach, a nationally sought-after professional speaker, certified corporate trainer, certified color specialist, and an author in Becoming a Professional Woman and On Stage! Image, Etiquette, Branding and Style. Becoming an author in a published book was awesome! I hosted a radio show in Orlando for about two years called The Magnolia, a show that was dedicated to image, brand, and business culture. The show then moved to the internet and you can see some of the shows on www.TheMagnolia.TV
Prior to starting my own firm, I held numerous senior level positions including marketing, business development, public and community relations, training, and sales. Formerly Senior Marketing Strategist for Barnett Banks, Inc., and the first ever Marketing Director for Asheville Savings Bank, I developed marketing strategies to further enhance their positions in the marketplace: to attract, build and enhance relationships, and increase profitability.
Our innovative solutions have been implemented in the industries of financial, insurance, travel, health, high-tech, law, construction, education, hospitality, religion, manufacturing, retail, and government. A sampling of our clients includes Lockheed Martin, Macquarie Investments (Australia) Delta Airlines, Georgia Pacific, University of Florida, Barnett-Nations-Bank of America, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, TAL Private (Canada), University of Central Florida, Holiday Inn, SunTrust, Starwood Vacation Resorts, Huntington Private Client Group, Stetson University, Florida Hospital Waterman, Royal Bank of Canada, Russell Corporation, Long’s Chapel UMC, and Western Carolina University.
Several years ago, my husband Tim retired from his position as Executive Vice President of BB&T financial institution. He had a long financial career in banking. So now what for him? I suggested he join TNB so he could hang his shingle, and he did. We enhanced the image and brand of our website, added his bio and craft which is strategic visioning, and away he went.
So, we both work under the label of TNB, and it is a great deal of fun and we enjoy it. In addition to work and clients, we are both involved in the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance. He serves on the Economic Development Council and I serve on the program and event committees. We both have always enjoyed helping the community and being in a business focused organization. We are also actively involved in our condo association where Tim serves on the board and I serve as Social Committee Chair.
I have been truly blessed in business and personal life, and I thank the good Lord daily for everything he has and will do for me.
Now onto year twenty-six!
Until next month,
Nyda
