Summer has arrived and the heat is on!
Let’s continue with our tips and techniques for staying “cool, calm, and collected” during the steamy summer months.
Summer is here!
One frustrating thing in the summer is getting in and out of a car throughout the day…it is terrible. First you finally get cooled off in the car with the air conditioning and then you have to step out in the steamy humidity and sweat (or as my grandmother used to say, we glisten). And you continue to repeat the process of in and out of the car until you are drained and tired. By the end of the day, all you want to do is sit or lie down and relax. So, how can we keep our cool?
When you know you are going to be in and out of the car for the day, make sure you wear garments that will allow you to remove your jacket while driving. This will get you feeling cooler quicker and will lessen the wrinkles in the jacket. Place the jacket on a hanger and hang it up on the hook in the car. Another is to remove your shoes if easily done to allow your feet to cool off. By the time you get to the next destination, you will be much cooler. Then put your shoes on, grab your jacket putting it on and visualizing that you are stepping out of a cool pool as you exit the car.
Another tip is to carry a small insulated bag filled with several of those frozen ice coolers to keep a bottle of water and a protein bar or snack, nice and cold for your enjoyment. Nothing like a sip of ice cold water each time you step into the car.
If you have a tip or technique to share, please let us know so we can all enjoy being “cool, calm, and collected”.
Until next time,
